Today Mona Johansson release her new album ”Walk”, a collection of American blues and soul songs. Mona has produced the album together with the guitarist Christer Lyssarides. In the collaboration between Mona’s expressive voice and Christer’s sensitive guitar playing, they create their own way of interpreting roots and blues.

Contributing to the sound is Mona Johansson, vocals and acoustic guitar, Christer Lyssarides, guitars and pedal steel, Björn Gideonsson, drums, Ralph Youngblood, bass, and Allen Finney, harmonica, vocals. Allen Finney is also songwriter to one of the tracks, ”Take a little walk”.

I am happy to be part of a new music project. My friend Bobo Eriksson, who call himself ”cover poet”, will join me and Christer Lyssarides in a new project called ”Att fånga sin lycka” – Blues och Poesi. The name comes from a poem of Gunnar Ekelöf, an old Swedish poet. In the act we will integrate blues songs with poems. The first concert will take place in Hedemora at the beginning och april.

My visit in India has been fantastic! Tonight I will be playing at Cirian’s, Agonda, together with my Swedish friends Per Ängkvist and Andrea Resch Ängkvist. I have during my vacation here been fortunate to play at several venues and I’ve met a lot of lovely friends. But everything has an end and soon I’ll be back in Stockholm again continuing with the recording of my blues album. I’m really looking forward to it.
